David Soul’s beloved wife has made a heartbreaking announcement.

David Soul is an actor best known for his role as Detective Kenneth ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson in the TV series Starsky & Hutch. As Soul’s wife, Helen Snell, confirmed on January 5, the legendary actor has passed away.

In her statement, Helen revealed he died on January 4, 2024. He was 80 years old.

David Soul – beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother – died yesterday after a valiant battle for life in the loving company of family. He shared many extraordinary gifts in the world as actor, singer, storyteller, creative artist and dear friend,” Helen wrote. “His smile, laughter and passion for life will be remembered by the many whose lives he has touched.”

His cause of death is not immediately known. His last Tweet was shared on Christmas Day:

Soul was married four times in his life and is the father to six children. He seemingly retired from acting in 2013 but kept his love of music alive, releasing a compilation of music in 2020.
