Beloved Comedian Bob Newhart Passes Away Unexpectedly

Our hearts are heavy with the sad news we share of Bob Newhart’s passing. The beloved comedian died at the age of 94.

Bob Newhart, who is known for his dry comedic delivery, passed away after a series of short illnesses, His publicist, Jerry Digney, confirmed that he passed away on Thursday, July 18.

Newhart was born in 1929 and got his start in comedy working as an advertising copywriter in 1958. When he released the album ‘The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart’ in 1960, it truly launched his success. He won a Grammy Award for that album in 1961 for Album of the Year. Newhart also won the Best New Artist award.

His father-in-law was actor Bill Quinn. You may remember him from Archie Bunker’s Place, where he played Mr Vanderleer. Bob’s wife, Ginni also came up with the best way to wrap up his second Newhart TV series.

Bob Newhart was married to Ginni in 1963. They stayed together until the died in 2023.

Bob Newhart is known for the two shows that carried his name, along with playing Papa Elf in the movie Elf.
