Melania Trump continued the long-standing First Lady tradition of visiting patients at
Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. She read the Christmas book How Does Santa Go Down the
Chimney and handed out toys, wishing the children “a very merry Christmas,” “a lot of strength and love,” and noting that President Trump was sending “love and best wishes.”
Hospital officials praised the visit, saying it brought “festive spirit,” “meaningful connection,” and moments of “joy, comfort and hope” to children spending the holidays in the hospital.

Some commenters mocked her accent, saying she “can’t even read properly,” and claimed she showed little emotion.
