“I can feel my heart breaking.” With heavy hearts, we announce the passing

Adriñn Olivares, who used to be in the boy band Menudo, has died.

He was 48 years old.

Menudo bandmates and the singer’s family confirmed his death on Monday night.

Adrián died suddenly on Monday, according to a GoFundMe page set up by his family and friends. He had been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease last week.

Having ulcerative colitis made the disease even worse.

“If you would please consider donating anything you can, it would be greatly appreciated as the family does not have the means to give Adrian his final farewell and help these girls with all their necessary expenses,” the text said.

“All the money will go to his mom, Natasha… We love you, Adrian!

Adrián joined the Latin band Menundo as its 23rd member in 1990, which was about 20 years after the group’s formation.

After only three years, in 1993, when she was 16, the singer quit the band.

But his time with the group was memorable because albums like 15 Años, Detras Tu Mirada, and Dancin’, Movin’, Shakin’ came out during that time.

Adrián recently started Wynwood Podcasting, a multimedia studio in Miami, Florida. Before that, he owned and ran Antenna Sound Inc.

He was in the Max miniseries Forever Young as well.

Adrián has three daughters: daughter Eliana, 18, and twin daughters Lia and Lilly, 8.

Some of his former bandmates, like Adrián’s Menudo bandmate Robert Avellanet, wrote about his death on Instagram.

“I am shocked still!” Robert wrote this next to a picture of Adrian when he was younger.

He needs to give his family strength. I hope the transition is easy for your soul. I’ll always remember how funny he was. We will meet up there, brother. RIP, Adrian.

Sergio Blass, a former bandmate, also made a similar post on social media.

“Fly high, little brother, and find strength for your family…” “You always seemed older than your years, and your charm was unmatched,” the musician wrote.

“You will always be one of the good ones and you will always live in our hearts.”

Adrián’s daughter Eliana wrote a sad Instagram tribute to him.

“I lack the words to express my feelings. I’ll always love you, dad. She said, “You have taught me love, strength, guidance, and many other things I wouldn’t know without you.”

“I still can’t believe you’re not here. I miss you so much and wish I could hug you or tell you we love you.”

I love you more than any other dad I could ask for. Knowing that God has you in his care makes me so thankful that you are my guardian angel. “I will always love you, dad.”

A singer’s ex-girlfriend, Sylvia Campos, also wrote a touching Facebook post in her honor.

I will always love you, Adriancito. You were a great man, singer, son, brother, friend, but most of all a GREAT DAD. May the road ahead of you be bright. I will always love you, she wrote.

DEAD MENUDO MEMBERS
Before Adrián’s death, Ray Reyes, who used to be in Menudo, died of a heart attack in 2021.

The musician from Puerto Rico was 51 years old.

Ray’s brother told people on Facebook that he had died and asked them to respect their family’s privacy.

“It is with great pain in my soul that I confirm the death of my beloved brother, Ray Reyes,” said he.

“Please give us space while we figure out what to do. Also, please pray for our family, especially my very fragile mother.” Also, please don’t forget what he left behind.

In 2021, Anthony Galindo, another former bandmate, died. That was 41 years ago.

He had tried to kill himself before, probably because he was depressed about how the COVID-19 pandemic affected the music business.

Also, Anthony’s family said something about his death in a statement.
