A strange yet consoling touch for a mother who lost her daughter to drowning in the family’s garden spa can be found in a picture taken on the bride’s wedding day.
When 28-year-old Tahlia and Cecil Murphy discovered that their 17-month-old daughter Taidyn “Totty” Murphy had died at their Gracemere home in the Rockhampton area of Queensland in September 2022, their lives were completely upended.
The sunny picture of Tahlia and Cecil kissing has an enigmatic stranger hiding in the background, waiting to be found.
“Our entire day was for her,” she told Daily Mail Australia. “We had a large, lovely A3 picture of her, she had a seat assigned to her, and a bouquet made for her. Our oldest daughter walked down the aisle with her ashes, and some of her ashes were also placed in my husband’s and my ring.”
After a friend pointed out a small figure in one of the photos, Tahlia, who was devastated that her daughter couldn’t make it to the wedding, started to feel a little better.
With the figure circled, one of my friends discovered it and forwarded it to me, saying, “Your baby girl was at your wedding day after all,” she said.
When my friend took a screenshot of the photo while I was lying in bed, I thought, “Oh my god, she was literally there.”
My husband and I both got goose bumps, sobbed, and exclaimed, “Look, it’s our Totty, watching from behind a tree in a white dress.”
Totty’s devoted mother claims that the happy couple even carefully considered their wedding date.
“She was born in March 2021 and passed away in 2022, so we got married on December 22nd,” Tahlia stated.
Additionally, June 22nd is our anniversary, and since my three other children’s ages add up to 22, the date was ideal.
The couple also disclosed that they had bought a puppy and named it Tella (after their child’s favorite food, Nutella) following Totty’s death.
Tahlia claimed that after seeing this picture, she was certain her daughter was watching from above, even though she had always been wary of the paranormal.
Over the years, she said, “I have always tried to pick up on little things, like if he left me any signs or anything like that, since I found out my dad died when I was eight.”
“Ever since she passed away, there have been signs, and this is just another one. I always believed, but never to the extent I do now.”
According to Tahlia, they have been seeing a bright yellow butterfly every day since their daughter passed away, and the urn they use to store her ashes is bright yellow and shaped like a butterfly.
“We have seen at least one every day, and occasionally 10, 20, or even 50,” Tahlia remarked.
“When we are out and about, we see them everywhere—in the front of our car, in the backyard, and around our house.”
Tahlia posted a video of the mysterious figure on TikTok, and it has received over 1.4 million views. Many of the viewers have expressed their confidence that their own young daughter was there that day.
love after looking at this picture.
“Oh my god.” “She will undoubtedly have the best footage,” someone commented.
This occurred in my official pictures! Another said, “Now I think my sister was there.”
I’m so sad for your loss; this gave me chills. A third said, “Your little girl was there that day.”
