The explanation
\nThe White House has stepped in to clear up growing online chatter after a noticeable bruise appeared on President Donald Trump\u2019s left hand during a high-profile signing ceremony in Davos, Switzerland.<\/p>\n

The mark quickly caught the internet\u2019s attention as photos from the Board of Peace signing began circulating, sparking speculation across social media.<\/p>\n

But according to the Trump himself, the explanation is far less dramatic than the theories flying around online.<\/p>\n

\u201cI clipped it on the table,\u201d he told CNN\u2019s reporter aboard Air Force One.<\/p>\n

\u201cI put a little \u2014 what do they call it? \u2014 cream on it. But I clipped it,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also told Fox News that the bruise was the result of a simple accident. According to her, Trump hit his hand on the corner of the signing table during the event.<\/p>\n

A White House official added that the president bruises more easily because he takes a daily aspirin \u2013 a routine that has been publicly disclosed by his doctors in the past.<\/p>\n

The official also emphasized that the bruise was not visible earlier in the day.<\/p>\n

\nBut not everyone was convinced by the president\u2019s \u2014 or the White House\u2019s \u2014 explanation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a really odd place for a hand to hit a table while signing something. Unless he slammed it upwards into the table from underneath. Either way, I call BS,\u201d one social media user wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow many times is he only going to hit the \u2018back of his hand\u2019? \ud83d\ude06 At least he\u2019s consistent,\u201d another added.<\/p>\n

At the same time, others rushed to Trump\u2019s defense.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m 75 and bruise like this often without knowing how it happened. That\u2019s called being a senior citizen!\u201d one commenter wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cI bumped my side into the edge of a table and bruised up my hip. I\u2019m also half his age. Shit happens,\u201d another posted.<\/p>\n

The Aspirin intake
\nSpeaking with CNN, Trump explained that his high dose of aspirin makes him more likely to bruise \u2014 something his doctors have previously pointed out.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say, take aspirin if you like your heart, but don\u2019t take aspirin if you don\u2019t want to have a little bruising,\u201d Trump said aboard Air Force One. \u201cI take the big aspirin, and when you take the big aspirin, they tell you, you bruise. The doctor said, \u2018You don\u2019t have to take that, sir, you\u2019re very healthy.\u2019 I said, \u2018I\u2019m not taking any chances.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The incident reignited curiosity about Trump\u2019s health, especially given his openness about his aspirin use. In an earlier interview with The Wall Street Journal, Trump explained his reasoning in his trademark blunt style.<\/p>\n

The bruise comes amid heightened attention to the president\u2019s health, particularly after he was seen covering his hand at public events with bandages or what appeared to be makeup.<\/p>\n

Last fall, Trump also drew headlines after revealing he had undergone an MRI, fueling further curiosity. However, the White House later clarified that the imaging was purely precautionary.<\/p>\n

In a memo released Dec. 1, White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella said the president had advanced imaging performed at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as a preventive measure.<\/p>\n

\u201dThe purpose of this imaging is preventive: to identify issues early, confirm overall health, and ensure he maintains long-term vitality and function,\u201d Barbabella explained.<\/p>\n

The memo went on to stress that there were no health concerns uncovered during the evaluation.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Trump\u2019s cardiovascular imaging is perfectly normal. There is no evidence of arterial narrowing impairing blood flow or abnormalities in the heart or major vessels,\u201d Barbabella said. \u201cThe heart chambers are normal in size, the vessel walls appear smooth and healthy, and there are no signs of inflammation, or clotting.
