Ever since she has posted the video in which she disclosed her cancer diagnosis with the public, Kate Middleton has remained largely out of the picture and was nowhere to be seen. But the time away seemed to fit her because she got the chance to rest.<\/p>\n

Today, nearly two years after the diagnosis, she has slowly but surely returned to some of her royal duties.<\/p>\n

Kate attended the Trooping of Color event, accompanying her husband and their three children.<\/p>\n

According to royal correspondent Rebbeca English, the entire experience has led Kate and William to get a whole new perspective on life.<\/p>\n

English says that the trauma she has gone through, changed the beloved princess as a person.<\/p>\n

\u201cCancer impacts on your perspective, and what you have seen in the decisions they have made over the last year is that family and their children continue to be at the center of their universe,\u201d a source told English.<\/p>\n

Both Their Royal Highnesses have a strong commitment to duty, service, and using their platform for good. But what they are working on is ways they can balance themselves as parents with being the Prince and Princess of Wales.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone is adjusting the dial,\u201d another source said.<\/p>\n

On June 2, Kate visited Colchester Hospital in Essex where she met cancer patients and spent time in a specially created outdoor space meant to help them recover during treatment.
\nPeople reported that Kate opened up about her cancer journey during the visit. She explained that the time after treatment was different than she imagined.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment\u2019s done, then it\u2019s like, \u2018I can crack on, get back to normal,\u2019 but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult,\u201d Kate Middleton said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you\u2019re not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to. And actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cYou have to find your new normal and that takes time\u2026and it\u2019s a rollercoaster, it\u2019s not smooth, like you expect it to be.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the reality is you go through hard times.\u201d<\/p>\n
