Officers arrived at the outlying residence ten minutes later. The door was opened by the startled parents.<\/p>\n

\nThere was a terrible silence in the room. In the corridor, even the parents froze. A minute went by, then another half-minute. The sound Mia had mentioned regarding the small girl was then heard by all. They noticed something awful as they glanced beneath the bed once more.<\/p>\n

Then again. A faint, inaudible murmur. It wasn\u2019t a voice, though. There was a sound. like scraping metal, muffled by the ground.<\/p>\n

The cop started knocking on the flooring while kneeling. It was a dull sound in one corner. A thin layer of soil was discovered beneath the parquet when the cops swiftly removed a small portion of it.<\/p>\n

They went to the garage and got a shovel and started digging. and they struck a metal cover a few centimeters later. There was a tunnel underneath.<\/p>\n

They requested assistance. Two hours later, it was found that there was an extensive system of tunnels beneath the house and nearby lots.<\/p>\n

There, three fugitives\u2014former inmates who had been hidden for months\u2014were burrowing directly beneath the city in preparation for an escape overseas.<\/p>\n

They tried to operate quietly at night using specialized equipment, but little Mia could still hear them.<\/p>\n
