In his personal life, Depp has been married and divorced twice. He has also had long-term relationships with other women, including Winona Ryder, Kate Moss and Vanessa Paradis, the mother of his two children. Paradis and Depp were together from 1998 to 2012.

Depp is a father of two: Lily-Rose and Jack. As a public figure, Depp is used to being in the spotlight, but that doesn’t mean he wants his children to be as well. However, much of Depp’s life story has continued to stay headlines, specifically his past relationship with Heard.

According to GQ, Heard filed for divorce due to “irreconcilable differences” in May 2016 after being married to Depp for just over two years. There were several issues within their relationship, and it seems like Depp’s children were not always fond of Heard as a stepmother figure. It was previously reported that Jack and Lily-Rose even “refused to be around” her.

In fact, according to Us Weekly, Lily-Rose didn’t even attend her father’s wedding to Heard. “My daughter Lily-Rose did not come to the wedding,” Depp said. “She and Ms. Heard were not on particularly great terms, for several reasons.”

More information regarding the past relationship between Depp and Heard has come to light over the recent years. As of June 2022, Depp and Heard’s trial ended. The trial took place from April 2022 to June 2022. On June 1, 2022, the jury found that three statements of Heard’s statements against Depp had been defamation. Depp was awarded $10 million. According to TODAY, Heard received $2 million in compensatory damages.

After the televised trial ended, Depp spoke out and said that he felt as if he could start living his life again. He posted a letter to his Instagram account.

“Six years ago, my life, the life of my children, the lives of those closest to me, and also, the lives of the people, who for many, many years have supported and believed in me were forever changed. All in the blink of an eye,” he wrote.

“It had already traveled around the world twice within a nanosecond and it had a seismic impact on my life and my career,” Depp posted. “And six years later, the jury gave me my life back. I am truly humbled,” the star wrote.

“From the very beginning, the goal of bringing this case was to reveal the truth, regardless of the outcome,” Depp said in his social media statement. “Speaking the truth was something that I owed to my children and to all those who have remained steadfast in their support of me. I feel at peace knowing I have finally accomplished that,” Depp finished his post writing.

Since then, Depp has embarked on a career comeback, landing a role in an upcoming film and reuniting with his band, the Hollywood Vampires.

As for Heard, she also released a statement on the matter. She has since done a handful of interviews reflecting on the trial and her past relationship with Depp. During an interview with Savannah Guthrie, Heard revealed that she still had love for Depp, as per TODAY. Guthrie explained that in a statement, Heard had said, “I still have love for Johnny.”

Heard agreed with the statement. “I tried the best I could to make a deeply broken relationship work,” she said. “And I couldn’t. I have no bad feelings or ill will toward him at all. I know that might be hard to understand, or it might be really easy to understand. If you’ve ever loved anyone, it should be easy.”

Heard added, “Absolutely. I love him. I loved him with all my heart.”
