In recent years, she also found success with her line of wigs.

Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1940, Welch’s passion for acting began at a young age. She always knew that she wanted to be an actress and pursued her dream with unwavering determination. Even as a child, she found solace in the theater and the escapism it offered.

Welch made her Hollywood debut in the 1960s and achieved her breakthrough role as “Loana the Fair One” in the 1966 hit film One Million Years B.C.
