Little House On The Prairie Bloopers And Mistakes Everyone Missed

Little House on the Prairie is one of those iconic shows that many of us have been watching for years. It was set in the 19th century, following a family as they lived life on that Prairie and dealt with triumphs and difficulties.
Perhaps you’ve even watched some reruns of Little House in the Prairie, and it is a show that just continues to be interesting. There are many things that went on behind the scenes, however, and we often miss them. Here are some of those bloopers and mistakes.
Laura’s Pregnancy: During the end of season seven, Laura first announced her pregnancy. The Prairie was in full bloom, as it was spring. By the next summer, she was very pregnant and people were starting to wonder how long she was holding the baby in.

There was some disconnect, for sure, and this was one that could have used better management.
Nellie’s Wig: Nellie Olson was one of the better-known characters on Little House on the Prairie. People seemed to love to hate her, especially when she teamed up with her mother.

One of the things that many of us remember about Nellie is her blonde curls. In order to achieve that, she had to use an old-fashioned curling iron. Instead of putting her through the problems of the iron, they would use a wig.
Colonel Sanders: This blooper is often best. Colonel Sanders, from Kentucky Fried Chicken, made an appearance in the eighth season to turn Nellie’s restaurant into a franchise.
After regretting the deal, she teamed up with Charles and Nels to open another restaurant. Interestingly, Colonel Sanders wasn’t born till 1890 but the show was based in the 1870s and 1880s.
Fashion Slip: This is an interesting oversight on the part of the writers and the camera crew. There are times when Caroline moved
just the right way and you can see her bra.

The reason why this is strange is because bras were invented until
1912. This show was about 30 years before that.
Melissa Sue Anderson: Many Little House fans loved the part of Laura on Little House, played by Melissa Stu Anderson. According to her co-stars, she was difficult to connect with.
She often came across as cold and aloof while she was on the set.
That’s difficult to tell when you look at pictures of the cast.
Nellie and Laura: Although they were rivals on the show, they actually became close friends. When the cameras weren’t going, they were laughing and creating memories. They even had sleepovers at each other’s homes offset.
Michael Landon Prankster: One of the things that was often said about Michael Landon is how he was creative and humorous onset.
One of the pranks that he pulled was on the youngest Ingall, Carrie.
Landon would take frogs and put them in his mouth and then walk over to other members of the cast. He opened his mouth to let the
frogs jump out.
Albert Quinn Ingalls: Matthew Labyorteaux played the part of Albert later in the show. He was an orphan that was adopted by the Ingalls family.
One of the questions that has often come up is whether Albert died or not. He was diagnosed with leukemia in one episode, but it was left in the air to debate as to whether he died or not.
