What a Star! Grace VanderWaal’s Performance Left Everyone in Awe

He called her the next Taylor Swift.

Grace’s sweet answer when asked if she thought she could win the contest was, “Well, miracles can happen.” She played an original song on her ukulele that showed off her unique singing and songwriting skills.

The judges didn’t trust her choice of song at first, but when she started to sing, they were blown away. “I don’t know my name,” her words said. The line “I don’t play by the rules of the game” hit home with the crowd and stuck with them.

Howie Mandel liked Grace so much that he hit the Golden Buzzer, which sent her straight to the live shows. She got into the race because of how well she did, and now she has millions of fans.

People in Grace’s class and friends knew she loved music because they had seen her perform at a school talent show. But her act on America’s Got Talent put her on the map and showed that she had what it takes to be a star.
