Prince William and Kate Middleton release never-before-seen photo to mark 13th wedding anniversary

Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a never-before-seen photo from their wedding this week as they celebrate 13 years of marriage.

The Prince and Princess of Wales wed one another on April 29, 2011 – we know, how was it been that long?! – and yesterday posted the aforementioned pic to mark their emotional anniversary.

The black-and-white image in question shows Kate holding her wedding bouquet. William is stood behind her, his hands lovingly placed on her waist.

13 years ago today!” the caption of the post, shared across the couple’s social media channels, read.

Credit for the new image was given to Millie Pilkington. The portrait photographer was also responsible for the photo of King Charles and Queen Camilla that was released to celebrate the first anniversary of their coronation.

Prince William and Kate originally met as students at University of St. Andrews in Scotland in 2001, ten years before they would eventually tie the knot. The couple now share three children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 6.

Though the sharing of the never-before-seen portrait from their wedding day might not seem too big of a deal, royal fans the world over will take every update they can get following the shock announcement of Kate’s cancer diagnosis.

Earlier this year, the Princess of Wales found herself the subject of mass conjecture and speculation after stepping back from the limelight following what Kensington Palace had termed a “planned abdominal procedure” in January.

Kate ultimately revealed to the world that she had been diagnosed with cancer, though did not specify what sort of cancer it was, nor what stage it was in. In the same video, she confirmed she would be undergoing a form of preventative chemotherapy to combat the disease.

There hasn’t been much said as to the Princess’s condition or health since then, though William resumed his royal duties last week.

“He is a very reliable, strong person. She doesn’t feel isolated in this because of William, who is right beside her,” a source told PEOPLE of the royal couple’s bond.

According to PEOPLE, William and Kate are known to spend a lot of time at their country home of Anmer Hall, part of the royal estate of Sandringham. It is there that Kate is said to feel most ‘at home’.
