In order to have the baby’s room ready for the arrival of the new family member, the Robinsons began preparing it as soon as they moved into their new home.
Mrs. Robinson had to give birth to her second child, a boy, in just four months.
Despite their love of animals, the Robinsons no longer want a dog but at least one puppy because their landlord forbade them from having one because they lived in an apartment.
To select a dog, the two wives brought their 6-year-old son Matias to an animal shelter. A non-aggressive dog that could grow up on the farm with the kids was what they were looking for.
They weren’t sure which puppy to pick after seeing the paddocks and learning about the sad tales of some of the canines.
They encountered Benson, a 4-year-old pit bull, on their way out. As though he had lost all faith in mankind, he walked back with his tail between his knees.
When the Robinson family asked about Benson, the animal shelter personnel informed them that his life had been a genuinely terrible one.
Volunteers discovered him on the streets after he had been used in dog fights.
Benson was in the dog shelter for a while before he was taken in by a couple. However, Benson was returned to the shelter after only two weeks because of his violent conduct toward his owners and behavioral issues.
Benson was adopted in spite of the volunteers’ recommendation that he not live with children.
Mr. Robinson requested that Benson be given a chance. Even though Benson disliked being on a leash and it was challenging to get to the car, they eventually made it home.
Benson was initially quite nervous, silent, and alone. However, Benson was able to adjust and form relationships with all of the family members, particularly Matias, over time.
They brought the newborn home after Mrs. Robinson gave birth, and Benson met him.
He sniffed the baby and then licked his face tenderly. It was immediately clear to the owners that Benson was a beautiful puppy and that they would get along.
The Robinsons were awakened one night by a loud barking sound when the infant was just two months old.
He kept barking and attempted to get inside the crib, but the safety bars stopped him. He began eating the cot, trying to get to the infant.
The Robinsons were initially concerned that Benson was attempting to hurt the child, so they were shocked to discover the baby had stopped breathing when they brought him into their arms.
After being brought to a local hospital, medical professionals were able to bring him back to life. The baby would have perished, the doctor informed the parents, if he had stayed in cardiorespiratory arrest for longer than half an hour.
Benson became well-known and demonstrated that nothing happens by chance. Benson rescued the life of the Robinson family’s infant after they were the first to give him a chance.
