For as long as our species has existed, being a mother is a highly special and valuable duty.
Being a mother is one of those life-changing experiences that might occasionally come as a surprise and other times as a result of years of patient waiting. Regardless of its form, we can all agree that it is always a blessing.
In general, none of us can predict when we will have children. We can do everything we can to make it happen if that’s what we want, but life has always been and always will be unexpected.
Some women become young mothers when they give birth while still in their teens. Later in life, other people become pregnant. Regretfully, some people may never be able to have children because of their problems.
Naturally, there is no right or wrong way to do it. All babies deserve recognition for the amazing journey they and their bodies take to create another human being, just as all moms deserve it.

But for their decisions about when and how to have children, some women—like Maria Carmen del Bousada of Cadiz, Spain—are mocked and sometimes even harassed.
According to Maria (2006), her family was shocked to learn that she was carrying twins.
Why? since she was sixty-six years old.
In 2006, María del Carmen Bousada Lara de España, who was 66 years old and 358 days old, set the record for the oldest living woman.
On Wednesday, April 24, 2013, La Arboleda Residencial was published.
According to reports, Maria, a retired store employee, sold her house to fund IVF therapy, which enabled her to conceive despite her senior age. She allegedly falsely claimed to be 55 in order to deceive doctors at a fertility facility in California.
Instead of feeling pressured to start a family by others or social pressure, Maria thought that everyone should be free to choose when they wish to do so.
Given a cancer diagnosis
“Often circumstances put you between a rock and a hard place, and maybe things shouldn’t have been done in the way they were done, but that was the only way to achieve the thing I had always dreamed of,” she said at the time, according to The Guardian newspaper.
She was not universally embraced, of course.
The primary critics of her were members of her own family, who accused her of being self-centered. Maria even stated that she had been hiding her pregnancy for some time, and when she eventually revealed it to her family, they thought she was joking.
In 2006, Maria gave birth to two healthy twin boys, Christian and Pau, making her the oldest mother in the world.
Unfortunately, she would not survive to see them reach adulthood. Just six months after giving birth, the new mother received an ovarian cancer diagnosis.
At the time, she stated, “I haven’t told them because they’re still babies.””These things are too young for them.”

Children of Maria Carmen del Bousada
Maria’s family felt forced to step in and assist her in raising Christian and Pau as a result. The retired mother passed away in 2009, having spent only a few short years with her boys.
“I think she has done this too late in life,” said Ricardo, Maria’s brother, “but now they are here.” We adore these handsome boys.
Pilar Pinto, a resident of Cadiz, where Maria lived, also provided an update on the lives of Christian and Pau.
He said that they were in excellent health and were receiving proper treatment.”I frequently see them around town.”
“God didn’t let her enjoy her children very much,” Pinto continued. He ought to have allowed her more time.
Until the end, Maria remained unwavering in her decision to have children later in life.
What a beautiful story. Whether you agree or disagree, I think every woman should be allowed to choose when she wants to have children.
