Buton, Indonesia. A 61-year-old man, identified as La Nato , was found dead after being swallowed by an eight-meter-long python in the South Buton regency in Southeast Sulawesi, on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
The incident occurred near the victim’s garden in the Sampolawa district. La Nato had previously been reported missing on Friday afternoon after going to his garden to check on his chickens.
When he didn’t return home that night, his family decided to launch a search the next day. The search paid off when they found the python, its abdomen visibly distended, about 500 meters from the victim’s garden.
The residents’ suspicions increased when they tried to contact La Nato ‘s cell phone and heard the ringing coming from inside the snake’s body.
