The daughter of famous actors Erika Slezak and Brian Davies died “very suddenly” at 42 years old. Like her parents, Amanda Davies also built a career in the entertainment industry.
“One Life to Live” star Erika Slezak’s daughter has sadly passed away. Amanda Davies, who met her demise at 42, was also the daughter of actor Brian Davies.
Before her death, Amanda worked as an actress and even portrayed the younger version of Victoria “Viki” Lord, Erika’s character from the famous sitcom. Her appearances on the show that first aired in 1968 took place in 2003 during the scenes that would show flashbacks.
Amanda’s death was confirmed via a statement made by her mother’s representative. The message read, “It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Erika’s daughter […] who died very suddenly. The family is heartbroken and would appreciate privacy at this time.”
In addition to her five-time Emmy Award-winning mom and stage star father, Amanda is also survived by her older brother, Michael Davies. The brother and sister, who come from a long line of talented professionals, were born in October and January, respectively.
Although Amanda forged a career in show business, acting had been something Erika didn’t necessarily want either of her kids to embark on. When they were children, the doting mother previously divulged, “Although Brian and I love what we do, and I don’t doubt that the children will think about acting careers at some point, I’d rather they chose something other than acting.”
Erika, who once starred alongside late actor Kamar de Los Reyes, explained that how the industry works is based mainly on luck. She said that whether or not one obtains a role is primarily out of one’s control. Naturally, when raising her kids, Erika and Brian ensured that Amanda and Michael remained away from the business.
They did so to try and give their children a normal childhood they could enjoy. However, there were times when Erika said Michael and Amanda would come by and visit her at the studio.
