“I remember in the morning mom hearing your alarm clock ring. I’d lie in bed and listen to you getting ready for work, the sound of your makeup case on the sink,” he wrote. “How proud and happy you always looked walking home from work.”
Bruce’s Instagram followers were quick to offer their condolences through the Instagram section of the post. “So sorry for your loss. All of Springsteen nation shares your pain,” one wrote. Our condolences Bruce and family. Sad news,” another echoed.
Many also sent words of comfort to Bruce. “God bless my friend,” one noted. “So sorry to hear this. Sending love,” another added.
Born on May 4, 1925, Adele spent the last 13 years of her life with Alzheimer’s. Her son revealed Adele’s seventh-year mark dealing with the illness in 2018. However, he highlighted the energy and love she still had for dancing.
Moving her body to the beat of the music had become a part of Adele’s being, such that her son made sure there was always music playing when she entered the door.
Adele had joined her son in the spotlight in previous concerts, dancing her heart out with Bruce by her side. In a 2012 concert, the two danced together on stage and had everyone applauding for them.
Like his mom, Bruce Springsteen had also battled health issues, including a recent peptic ulcer diagnosis that resulted in him postponing his shows. He also dealt with a previous throat surgery and mental health issues.
