people believe that they are underpaid, despite the hard job they have. That’s why, the least we can do is be grateful to them. This is why in many restaurants, shops, there is a veterans discount.
This is exactly what a KFC Store in Ohio did. The sign in their door went viral, and generated many online reactions.
Despite having over 6000 shares and 10,000 likes, none of them had the same opinion about it.
Numerous conversations ensued after the image was shared on a Facebook page named Ohio Going Blue.In essence, the store’s policy, regardless of the time or date, was to grant complimentary meals to anyone dressed in uniform. Initially conceived as a way to express gratitude to local officers by offering a discount on chicken, this innovative policy was on the verge of gaining more online attention.
The sign will remain posted in the store despite having earned so much media interest.
indicated that as an officer they would prefer not to be given special attention and in fact pay for it themselves. Comments from facebook page admins:
“This is a positive post, but some of you can’t see the bigger picture. As an officer, I do not go into any establishment expecting ANYTHING to be free if I’m in uniform or not. There are other officers who feel similar. We don’t like “special treatment”. The reason for the post is because KFC is acknowledging law enforcement. To those who stated that other first responders should also be acknowledged. My answer? ABSOLUTELY
For the officers who put their lives at risk let this sign serve as a salute to them so they know we appreciate their efforts.
