Bullying is a problem that tends to affect people when they are young. We may have experienced bullying on the playground or even at home, but sometimes we outgrow the problem.
Unfortunately, there are many people who have to deal with bullies, even as they get older. That includes a woman named Julie, who worked as a cleaner for 35 years.
Julie was somebody who was very enjoyable to know. She was friends with many people and she not only did a lot of work for them, she also enjoyed doing that work.
This changed a little in 2021 when a bad manager came into the scene. That manager did something that made her turn in a resignation letter.
Julie was employed by HSBC Bank in the UK. One manager at that company looked down on Julie because of her job as a cleaner. Interestingly, her name is also Julie.
One particular encounter led Julie, the cleaner, to realize that it was time to call it quits. Rather than just leaving, she left a letter.
She wanted to express how she felt and it was easier to do it in the written form. Her words were kind, yet firm when she put her feelings down on paper.

And this is why I love my mum. She’s been cleaning banks for 35 years and today walked out with this lovely note left for that awful manager. Happy retirement Mum – always have the last laugh eh! 💚☺️ #Tada pic.twitter.com/u8G73MTPMA

She said: “I’ve left the job, Julie, after the way you dressed me down in the office. It was nothing more than aggressive and cruel but that’s a reflection on your character not mine.”
Julie’s words are a reminder for all of us that we live in a world that is what we make it to be. Having a positive attitude and showing kindness to others is something that makes us a better person and makes the world a better place.
