People suffer from a wide variety of phobias. Some people are afraid of spiders and others are afraid of heights. One type of phobia that is relatively common is claustrophobia, which is a fear of tight spaces.
Although many of us would avoid tight spaces if we had the opportunity to do so, Jacob and Calvin Sanders seek it out. They run the Caveman Hikes YouTube channel, and one of their new videos is causing quite a stir online.
The couple goes into places where most of us would never consider going. They focus on the extreme areas, and if it is more extreme, they are all for it.
If you watch their YouTube channel for any length of time, you come to realize that they are not afraid of much. That can either be a good thing or a bad thing, but it certainly does make for some great videos.
Jacob does admit that he was terrified when he first went into caves. He said that they will always surprise him because you never know if it is going to be wet or dry, cold, dirty, clean, or muddy.
He went on to speak about the caves, saying: “Is it going to be, like, pretty or is it going to be super ugly, you know, like a crawly cave that’s all spiky?”
A recent video is causing a lot of anxiety for his YouTube followers who watch it. He is trying to get through a very tight area in a cave and he even tears his close to shreds to do so.
When they got to a difficult part in the cave, he said: “A lot of people ask why we do this and you’re never going to get a sufficient answer.
“Why do wake up in the morning? What drives you? What makes you want to get up and study a subject or go to work or go hang out with your friends?
“Really, nothing. That’s just life. Really this is our way of living, it is not our way of dying. It is our way of destroying shirts, but our bodies are just fine.”
They made the video and shared it in 2022. It shows them trying to map a new cave that was discovered, so the obstacles they face are often unknown in advance.
As the comments poured in, you couldn’t help but recognize that people were uneasy with what they are seeing. I have to admit, I’m a bit uneasy as well.
